Guv, CM condole Jayalalithaa’s demise

JAMMU, Dec 6: Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have expressed grief over the sad demise of Jayalalithaa Jayaraman, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
In a message of condolence the Governor described her as a popular leader who has left an indelible impression on the Indian politics. He prayed for the peace to the departed soul and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family.
CM described Jayalalithaa as a leader of masses who would be remembered long for introducing many innovative schemes and programmes for public welfare. She said the late leader was one of the highly learned politicians of the country.
In her condolence message to the newly elected CM of Tamil Nadu, O. Panneerselvam, the Chief Minister said J. Jayalalithaa was an example personified of women empowerment, who brought a unique style to country’s politics.
She has also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul of the late leader.
Meanwhile, as a mark of respect to Jayalalithaa, the National and the State flags were flown at half mast today on all the buildings and places of the State Capitals (Jammu and Srinagar), where these were flown regularly.
