LEH, Nov 28: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Leh, Tashi Gyalson here today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of developmental works and the expenditure under SDP and State sector budgets for the current financial year.
The meeting focused on evaluating both physical and financial achievements as well as discussing anticipated expenditure.
Gyalson noted that this review comes after recent budget cuts and emphasized that a realistic projection of budget requirements has been submitted to New Delhi. He expressed hope that the budget allocations for Ladakh would remain unaffected, given the region’s unique challenges. Click here to watch video
The CEC Leh pointed out that the ground realities of Ladakh are different from other regions, requiring special consideration. The short working season and difficulties in tendering process often hamper timely execution of developmental projects.
Gyalson further mentioned that Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Dr. B.D Mishra, has raised concerns over the budget cuts with the Union Minister for Finance.
He expressed optimism that New Delhi would take into account the peculiarities of Ladakh and reconsider the decision to reduce the budget for the region.
