Habitual drug peddler arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Dec 5: Bus Stand Police arrested a habitual drug peddler and recovered 6.50 grams heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Bus Stand led by SHO Inspector Deepankar Singh and assisted by ASI Rashpal Singh under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Mohita Sharma laid a naka and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing cops, the pedestrian tried to escape but was intercepted after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 6.50 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Raj Kumar, son of Krishan Lal, a resident of Rehtyian District Udhampur.
During preliminary questioning, the apprehended person disclosed that he deals in selling and purchasing heroin. The accused person was a habitual drug paddler and tried to get the local youth involved in drugs and was also supplying drugs among the youth.
A case under FIR Number 76/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
