Habitual two-wheeler lifter nabbed, 4 bikes recovered

JAMMU, Aug 11: Gangyal police under operation “Avtar” nabbed a habitual two-wheeler lifter and recovered four bikes from his possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka near Bandhu Rakh and signaled a motorcyclist to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the biker escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the biker near some distance from the naka point.
During scrutinizing of the documents, it came to fore that the motorcycle bearing registration number JK21-2164, which the biker was riding was stolen by him from Model Town Gangyal few days back.
The rider identified as Sanjeev Kumar, son of Bachan Lal, a resident of Ward Number 7, RS Pura was arrested by the police.
During sustained questioning, the police recovered three more motorcycles, which the accused had stolen from different areas of the Jammu district. With the recovery of four stolen bikes, police solved four theft cases registered with Gangyal and RS Pura police stations.
The accused is a habitual vehicle lifter and was wanted by RS Pura and Satwari police also.
Further questioning of the accused is going on and more recoveries are likely to be made from him in the near future.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aijaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
