SRINAGAR : All the Haj flights in Jammu and Kashmir, where flood triggered by incessant rain during the past five days has wreaked havoc in many parts of the state, were cancelled till September 12, 2014. Official sources here today said keeping in view the situation arisen due to floods triggered by incessant rains, all Haj flights from Jammu and Kashmir have been postponed till September 12.
‘It is difficult for the Haj pilgrims from various districts to reach to Srinagar due to floods caused by incessant rain in the state and the request was made to postpone the Haj flights till September 12 so that the pilgrims could reach safely to Srinagar for their further journey,’ they said.
They said more than 50 per cent pilgrims from the state have left for Haj. Authorities had earlier cancelled Haj flights from September 5 to September 7, 2014. (AGENCIES)
