Haj fraud accused arrested from Delhi

SRINAGAR, May 6: Police today said it achieved a major breakthrough in Al Hajeej cheating case by arresting main accused in Delhi.
A police spokesman said the main accused Fabiyan Wahid Gilkar was wanted in FIR number 58/2011 and 88/2012 registered in connection with  cheating on pretext of providing private Hajj and Umrah services by Al Hajeej Tour and Travels.
“These two case FIRs were registered in Police Station Khanyar against Al-Hajeej Tour and Travels owned by Fabiyan Wahid Gilkar and others for cheating on pretext of providing private Hajj and Umrah services. Nine more cases were registered in different Police Stations of Srinagar against this company on the same allegations,” he said.
The spokesman said the challan of these cases was produced before the Court of law under sections 420, 406, 295-A, 120-B RPC. “The accused of these cases were at large and were not attending the court upon which warrants were issued against them under section 512/CrPC. A look out notice was also issued by the Court,” he said.
The spokesman said the police received information that the accused Fabiyan Wahid Gilkar was trying to flee to Dubai.  “Acting on this information a police party was deputed to Delhi to arrest the accused. After arresting him he was brought Srinagar today,” he added.
