Hakla reiterates demand on Gojri language

Poonch, May 17:  Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi, a prominent Gujjar leader of Jammu and Kashmir has appealed the Chief Minister of the State to approach the Government of India with the recommendation that Gojri Language be included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India.
In a statement issued here today, he said this would ensure the development and spread of Gojri language. Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi further added that the Gojri language is being spoken by a  large number of population of Gujjars and Bakerwals in the State, the number of which goes over thirty four lacks.
He said this huge population in no way could be ignored. Hence inclusion of Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of Constitution of India, is most genuine and justified, he added.
