POONCH, Apr 29: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjar leader and an intellectual of the State expressed concern over the plight of nomadic Gujjars and Bakarwals of the State. He said that these nomadic Gujjars and Bakarwals move to the hilly and mountainous areas of the State during the six months of Summer along with their belongings and cattle where they can have sufficient grazing fields for their cattle.
These nomadic people have now started moving to the heights of mountains of the State where green grass is available sufficiently for their cattle. During their staying in the heights of mountains Gujjars and Bakarwals face the problems, difficulties and lead a hardship life.
Moreover these people have to face the problem of food stuff as well because the food stuff that they are carrying with them does not suffice for six months. The condition of path or route along which they walk is also not a good and it is a problem for both the people as well as their cattle and also they lack tent facilities due to which they have to face the problem of rain until they reach Dhoks and Bhaks.
