DODA, July 15: Halqa Panchyat, Halaran, block Thathri, District Doda is facing shortage of all the basic amenities having 90% SC/ST dominated population wherein people are socially, economically, educationally backward.
OM Raj Bhall, Sarpanch said that there is no clean drinking water, no proper electricity as electricity lines are hanging on green trees due to non availablilty of iron poles. He said that motorable road Khara to Halaran has been passed for light vehicles/medium vehicles but no mini bus or matador have been pressed for the welfare of people and college going children. The students have to pay Rs 80 to Sumo from Halaran to Thathri only for 32 Kms.
Bhall said that seven schools are existing in the area and about 700 students are without drinking water due to negligence of PHE Department.
Repeated appeals to the administration have failed to yield desirable results, he maintained.
