JAMMU, Feb 12: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Anand Jain inaugurated Hamdard Health Care Unit at Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
On the occasion, Yashpal Singh (spokesperson, BJP Minority Morcha) and State chief spokesperson of BJP Mahila Morcha Ritika Trehan were present as guests of honour. Meanwhile, Kulbhushan Khajuria (Joint Commissioner, Health & Sanitation, JMC) was present as special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Jain said that the awareness level regarding Unani medicine is good rather utilization of it is relatively lower as compared to modern system of medicine. There is a need and scope for promotion of health education as well as improvement in the people’s attitude towards Unani system of medicine. Globally, there is a growing interest in complementary and alternative medicine. He said use of alternative medicine is rising because of its affordability, accessibility, and rise in awareness about the adverse effects associated with allopathic medicines.
Speaking on the occasion, Ritika said that Hamdard Wellness Centers offer an experiential high for patients and those seeking an ‘alternative way of wellness’ in a serene environment designed to soothe the senses. The centres feature a ‘Unani Experience Zone’ along with a herbarium showcasing plants of medicinal value, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal, said Ritika. Ritika further said that Hamdard is dedicated to providing both Quality Unani Medicines and access to Expert Unani Physicians at the consumer’s convenience through these centers.
Proprietor of Hamdard Health Care Unit Shakeel Ahmed Kalis while speaking on the occasion said that Unani medicine system recognizes the influence of surroundings and ecological conditions on the state of health of human beings. He said that in order to provide best Ayurvedic/Allopathic treatment to common people at their door steps by conducting various diagnostic tests, free consultation on voice/video calls will also be entertained at the centre.
