JAMMU, Apr 23: The Hanuman Janmotsav was today celebrated with religious fervour by various organisations in Jammu here today.
J&K Dharmarth Trust today celebrated Hanuman Janmotsav with religious fervour at Shree Raghunath ji Temple in Jammu.
On the occasion, Priests of Shree Raghunath ji Temple recited Hanuman Chalisa and Sunderkand Path in a traditional manner. Hundreds of devotees participated in the programme.
Head Priest of Shree Raghunath ji Temple briefed the visitors about the religious importance of Hanuman Janmotsav.
He said that Hanuman Janmotsav is considered as one of the significant festivals and Dharmarth Trust has been celebrating the festival every year with great enthusiasm, religious fervour and sanctity amid a massive participation of devotees.
“The people should participate in the festivals with great zeal and zest because these are the quintessence of the culture of the land and to preserve the same, it is essential that more and more people remain connected,” he said and urged the people to have undaunted faith in Lord Hanuman as ‘He’ is all powerful and will bail out humanity from all problems.
Later, Prasad was also served among the devotees and visiting pilgrims after the culmination of recitation of Hanuman Chalisa Path followed by Aarti.
A similar program was organized in Baba Kailakh Dev Mandir in which Shri Hanuman Chalisa was recited in front of the idol of Hanuman ji. A large number of youth participated in it. After this, havan was performed.
Shri Hanuman is worshipped as a person of strength, intelligence and a great devotee.
Among the seven people who are still present on earth after getting the boon of being immortal, Hanuman ji is the trouble-shooter of the devotees in Kalyug.
Committee secretary Shakti Dutt Sharma, Sunil Dutt Raka, Rajat Sudan, Arunanshu Seth, Sahil Seth, Pandit Kewal Krishna Seth, Prabhu Singh, Surinder Seth, Ajay Sharma, Raj Sharma etc. were present in the program.
With an aim to educate the youth to preserve the environment and keep their surrounding clean and green, a plantation drive was organised by Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav.
The puja started with chanting of vedic mantras and after that reading of Hanuman Chalisa by religious scholars followed by hawan bhajan and kirtan.
Speaking on the occasion trust trustee, R K Chibber said educate the youth to preserve the environment and keep their surrounding clean and green is very important because youth are the future of the nation and development of the nation lies on the shoulder of youth.
He also said that the life of lord Hanuman ji has very much to learn for youth and he has been a role model to the young generation. He also appeals youth to keep away from any harmful toxic and also spread the feeling of brotherhood and harmony among each other.
Among others who were present during the event included Uttam Chand Sharma, Naresh Raina, Anil Gupta, Sunil Vaid, Susheel Dutta and Pawan Dutta.
The Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation also organized a Rudraksh plantation drive at Shiv Mandir Dhera Bhajwal, Sunderbani, in commemoration of Hanuman Jayanti.
The function was organised under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Sonia Verma, Director of the foundation, this initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability and cultural reverence.
The success of this endeavour was made possible by the enthusiastic participation of individuals including Keshav Rajput, Manoj Kumar Ranyal, Shree Kant, Shanti, Sudreshan Prashar, Nitu, Daksh Sharma, and Mohinder Ranyal, whose dedication and hard work contributed to the drive’s success.
Dr. Tarun Sharma Actor, Director, Social, Sports and political activist also extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav calling it a day to remember dedication of Lord Hanuman.
Dr. Sharma said that the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav is a day to remember the compassion and dedication of Lord Hanuman.
He said that According to mythology, Hanuman Janmotsav is the day when Lord Hanuman was born. Hanuman Janmotsav is celebrated on the 15th day of the Shukla Paksha or the Full Moon phase moon in the month of Chaitra.
Hanuman Janmotsav comes a few days after Ram Navami, the birthday of Lord Ram. Hanuman Ji is often referred to as Ram Bhakt Hanuman as he is the greatest disciple of Lord Ram.
Lord Hanuman is also called Pawan Putar Hanuman because he is the son of the wind god, according to mythology.
