Hapless lady appeals to Chairman JDA

JAMMU, Oct 27: Hapless lady Anu Kumari urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is also Chairman of Jammu Development Authority (JDA), to absorb her on the post of her husband, who went missing nearly 13 years ago and was considered dead under Law.
Addressing a press conference, Anu Kumari said that she was married to one Satish Kumar of Nai Basti, who was a permanent Class IV employee of JDA. After the marriage, Satish went missing on March 9, 1999 and till date could not be traced out.
A girl child was born of their wedlock and the poor parents of Satish Kumar were unable to take care of her and her child”, she said, adding, that as her husband was missing for the last more than eight years, he was to be considered dead under the Law.
“Besides repeated requests to the JDA Authorities for her appointment against Class IV post under SRO 43, the said authorities have denied justice to her”, Anu Kumari alleged.
A petition in the High Court was filed and taking into the consideration the facts of the case, her petition was disposed of with the direction that she would file representation before Vice Chairman, JDA for considering her case for appointment against Class IV post on compassionate ground according to rules and JDA should consider her representation and dispose of the same within period of three months, she said, adding, that accordingly she submitted the representation but JDA Authorities failed to consider the same.
After a period of four years, she once again vide appeal dated July 24, 2012 requested the JDA Authorities to create a supernumerary post of Class IV to adjust her on compassionate ground, so that she could feed herself and her 12 years daughter, but this time also the JDA Authorities did not consider the request”, she further informed.
