NEW DELHI, Oct 18: Minister for Rural Development, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq today participated in 10th meeting of Advisory Council of the National Mission for Justice Delivery and Legal Reforms.
The meeting was chaired by Union Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad and was attended by Union Ministers of State for Home Affairs and Law and Justice, Chairman Law Commission, Attorney General of India, Solicitor General of India, besides other concerned officials.
The meeting deliberated upon various aspects of justice delivery system and ways to improve legal and judicial framework so that timely and cost effective justice is made available at the door steps to the people.
The participants also discussed the need of procedural reforms to improve the criminal justice system and to address frequent adjournments of trials affecting justice delivery system.
On the occasion, Law Commission was asked to come up with recommendations regarding speedy delivery of justice especially in criminal cases to boost justice delivery mechanism.
