JAMMU, Sept 10: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan, today convened a meeting with Law Officers to review the functioning of the department.
Minister of State for Law and Justice and Finance, Ajay Nanda, Advocate General, Jahangir Iqbal Ganai and Law Secretary, Abdul Majid Bhat were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Minister discussed various cases pending before different courts and directed the prosecutors to prepare monthly report which shall be constantly monitored by the Government. He directed the Prosecuting Officers to properly monitor the investigation and trial of cases so that same are prosecuted in a proper manner.
The Minister also discussed various cases pending before the department and asked the officers to expedite the process for their early disposal. He asked them for effective coordination among Law and other departments for better results.
During the interaction with newly appointed Law Officers, he asked them to work with zeal and dedication. He also instructed the prosecutors to work hard to further add to their efficiency and keep themselves updated.
The Minister assured the officers that all efforts will be taken to create conducive atmosphere in the department so that they are able to work in a more comfortable and efficient manner.
Ajay Nanda exhorted upon the officers to work with utmost care and concern to provide a logical conclusion to the cases.
Senior Additional Advocate General, Seema Khajooria Shekhar, Additional Secretary, Achal Sethi, Director Litigation Jammu, Rohini Gupta besides Law Officers, Public Prosecutors, Additional Public Prosecutors and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Minister reviewed the functioning of Rural Development Department at Udhampur.
ACD Udhampur Joginder Singh Rai informed the Minister about various achievements registered by the department under different schemes.
Addressing the officers, the Minister directed them to focus on construction of fish ponds, which he said can also generate employment opportunities for youth.
Haq Khan also reviewed the achievements under IWMP and directed the concerned to focus on water conservation and establishment of nurseries in the state or community land.
While reviewing the performance of NRLM, the Minister informed that our state has been excelling in this field.
