RAMBAN: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan today convened public meetings at Gool to assess public grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister said that development of hilly and backward areas is on priority of government. He said that vision of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed shall be implemented in letter and spirit for ensuring overall development and peace of the state. He assured the public that the developmental proposal meant for the development of Gool area would be taken to more heights.
Earlier, local people raised the issues related to lack of proper basic amenities in their respective areas besides need of development works in Chuchhaa, Ind, Dhram, Sangaldan, Bimdasa and other adjoining area of hilly sub division.
Responding to the issues, the Minister assured the public that all their genuine demands would be redressed on priority.
The Minister also visited the tourist site of Tata Pani where he instructed the Rural Development Department to construct bathing ghats and ensure partition of toilets being constructed for ladies and gents separately.
Later, Minister inaugurated Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system under centrally sponsored scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ (Grameen) with transfer of amount of first installment into the accounts of beneficiaries at Ramban with transfer of an amount of rupees four crore into the account of beneficiaries.
Director Rural Development Department Ravinder K. Bhat, ASP Mushtaq Choudhary, ACD Ramban GH Kripak, BDOs and officials besides large number of beneficiaries were present on the occasion.
While interacting with the beneficiaries, Khan said that under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode of PMAY, the people avail financial assistance without any delay and problems and there is no need to move from one office to another. He added that in addition to this, two more installments would be provided to the beneficiaries on the condition that if already paid amount is properly utilized for the said purpose.
