JAMMU, Mar 22: Police in RS Pura area here claimed they have detained a hardcore criminal under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
A police spokesperson said Ankush Kumar alias Anku of Kahna Chak, Tehsil RS Pura, has been detained under the PSA for his criminal activities in an organised manner, posing a threat to the peace and order of the region.
“The accused didn’t change his behaviour/criminal activities inspite of the fact that he had been booked several times for different crimes committed by the latter,” said the police spokesperson, adding, “since his activities are likely to disturb the public order particularly in RS Pura area, he has been booked under the PSA.”
He said a detention order against the accused individual was issued by the District Magistrate Jammu which got executed today with his arrest.
