SAMBA, June 2: Police claimed today that they have arrested a hardcore criminal who was involved in several criminal cases of heinous nature.
A police spokesperson said that Ranju Choudhary alias Ranju of Kathar Kothey, Arnia, was wanted in several cases of attempts to murder, extortion, drug peddling, criminal intimidation, and Arms Act registered in different police stations.
“Recently, Ranju, along with other criminals attempted to murder one shopkeeper by stabbing him in the back at Ramngarh,” he said, adding that, today Ranju, the main accused in the case, has been arrested.
“Further investigation in the case is underway,” he said.
Ranju was arrested by a team comprising SHO Ramgarh Sudesh Kumar and PSI Vikrant Kotwal under the supervision of Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary, he added.
The overall operation was carried out under the supervision of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, said the police spokesperson.
