JAMMU, Nov 21: Keeping tight vigil to thwart the nefarious designs of the unscrupulous elements, Chinore police today nabbed a hardcore criminal, who was evading his arrest for the past eight years.
As per police sources, police team from Chinore police post conducted a raid in Bantalab area and arrested a hardcore criminal, who was at large since 2006.
The accused has been identified as Jyoti Gupta, son of Tara Chand, a resident of Kot-Bhalwal.
The absconder was wanted in FIR number 102/2006 under Section 341, 323, 147 and 148 RPC and 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act registered with police station Domana.
The accused was also wanted in various cases registered with different police stations and arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC was also issued against him by Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate, Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by incharge police post Chinore SI Deepak Katoch made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Mohammad Qasim, SDPO Domana Sanjay Parihar and SP Rural Rajeev Pandey.
