JAMMU, July 24: In the nukkad series launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages at Hari Singh Park, Hardeep Dance and Cultural Society Jammu staged a nukkad natak namely ‘Vansh’ on female foeticide.
The players of the team while depicting the various scenes designed with the very dramatically aesthetic sense that in the Indian society female child are considered as social and economic burden to their parents so they understand that it is better to kill them in the womb before taking the birth in this planet whereas no one understands its negative aspect in the future.
The play aware the audience that the female sex ratio in comparison to the male has been reduced to the great extent (8 males per female) and if the situation will remain same there will be great unbalance among the ratio of human where as this practice is not done in the animals so humans must learn from the animals to save the humaity.
The artists who performerd were Shashi Bhushan, Ajay Kumar, Shalini Parihar, Esha Sharma, Kanchi Khajuria, Rubina Kalotra, Tatvaga Bhargav, Ajay Sharma and Yasir Shah.
Sween Puri, Principal Nagbani School was the chief guest while Prof SP Arora presided over the function.
Tomorrow a nukkad play will be performed by society for environment and modern art.
