JAMMU, July 28: Harish Prabhu Sanstha celebrated its 20th Foundation Day and held Annual General Body Meeting (AGM), here today.
Out of its 400 active members, more than 200 attended the event. Senior citizens and retired employees in their 90s, 80s, and 70s actively participated in the event.
Col (Retd) Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman of Kathua, was the chief guest for the occasion, and DK Vaid, retired School Education Director, was the guest of honour. The event was graced by Harish Prabhu Sanstha’s Patron-in-Chief ID Soni, Patron Jagmohan Gupta, Chairman Harinder Gupta, President SC Gupta, Vice President and Founder Member SK Jain, General Secretary Kuldeep Gupta, and other prominent personalities associated with the Sanstha.
The President of Harish Prabhu Sanstha presented a detailed overview of the various activities of the organization and read out the annual income and expenditure statement, which was unanimously adopted by voice vote.
Speaking on the occasion, Col Mahan Singh lauded the initiative and the valuable contributions made by the members. He emphasized that, besides supporting social causes and helping hundreds of needy individuals every year, the members are also committed to the development of their birthplaces in remote areas such as Billawar, Bhaddu, Ramkot, Kough Mandli, and other regions across District Kathua and Jammu.
The organization also felicitated young achievers on this occasion. S K Jain received a lifetime achievement award for his invaluable contributions to the organization over the past 20 years.
The NGO Hari Prabhu Sanstha provides pensions to poor widows and scholarships to meritorious children from poor families besides running an old age home in Gujroo Nagrota Billawar, offering free computer training for needy students, helping with the marriage of poor girls, organizing periodic medical camps, and other social activities.
