Sir,
I read with great interest the recent article highlighting the abundant mineral resources in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. These regions are blessed with diverse mineral wealth, from coal to sapphire, bauxite to gypsum, and much more. These resources not only have economic value but also the potential to drive technological and industrial development in the region.
However, it is essential that we strike a balance between exploiting these resources for economic growth and preserving the fragile ecosystem of these areas. Environmental protection and mineral conservation must go hand in hand. It is heartening to see the mention of the need for sustainable mining practices, rehabilitation of mined areas, and responsible consumer behavior.
We must ensure that the exploitation of these resources is carried out in an environmentally responsible manner to safeguard the unique ecosystem of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Let us utilize these resources wisely for the benefit of the region’s development while maintaining its natural beauty.
