JAMMU, Apr 12: Accusing the ruling alliance of perpetuating bias against Jammu region, Harshdev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister today lambasted the BJP in particular for its obsequious submission to the whims of its coalition partner for petty political gains thus belying all legitimate hopes and anticipations of the people of this region.
He said that the BJP which had climbed the ladder of power on the slogan of ‘empowerment of Jammu’ gave the biggest shocker to Jammuites by surrendering the most prestigious Rs. 1600 crore AIIMS project to Kashmir despite the same having been sanctioned for Jammu. He was addressing a massive rally organized in Balpur Majalta after a series of protest demonstrations were held by NPP activities in Majalta tehsil for restoration of AIIMS back to Jammu.
While addressing the gathering, Harshdev Singh said that recent Assembly session witnessed the spineless Jammu based legislators obediently succumbing to the dictates of their Kashmir counterparts quite unmindful and deliriously oblivious of the lofty promises made by them during Assembly elections. He said that rather than fighting for the cause of Jammu region they maintained a compliant and obsequious posture thus submitting to the whims of a largely dominant PDP leadership and playing a second fiddle to them by endorsing their policies and programmes.
Lampooning the lame duck posturing of BJP, Mr. Singh said that the Saffron Party which had been adopting an aggressive posture in public and giving high pitched slogans of ending all forms of discrimination during elections most shamelessly surrendered the highly prestigious and premier Health institute of National Level to Kashmir only to appease PDP for the sake of power and keep its leadership in good humour for petty personal gains.
