JAMMU, Nov 19: Chairman, National Panthers Party (NPP) and MLA, Harshdev Singh ridiculed the congress for its casual and highly guarded statements being issued by its various leaders for condemning the anti-utterances of the senior NC leader Dr Mustafa Kamaal and dared the Congress to withdraw support to NC, as some congress leaders have even made a statement of withdrawl of support to NC.
He said that the congress leaders have been too cautious in the use of words in dealing with seditious statements of Dr Mustafa Kamaal so that alliance is not disturbed and formality of criticism is also fulfilled.
Accusing the Congress leaders of double standards, Harshdev Singh said that they have always been following the policy of running with the hare and hunting with the hound. He dared the Congress leaders to translate their threat of withdrawl of support to NC, into reality. Singh said that public was eagerly waiting their response and merely mouthing platitudes and making statements for media consumption was not enough.
He deplored that the Congress had not only continued its support to NC but had entered into fresh alliance with NC for the four seats of MLCs fro Panchayat quota.
Cautioning the Congress of its fast eroding credibility, he said the Party should honour public sentiment and reconsider its decision of not only alliance in MLC elections but also of continuing in the Coalition Government.
It was not the first time when NC leaders had made such seditious contemptuous and highly disparaging comments, Singh said, adding even the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah himself had made a statement in 2010 Autumn session of State Assembly in Srinagar that J&K has not merged with Indian Union but has only acceded to it on certain terms.
Terming the utterances of Kamaal as seditious, he sought initiation of proceedings under section 124 A against NC leader and dismissal of the Coalition Government for its leaders directly and indirectly aiding and abetting such seditious statements and anti-national utterances.
