JAMMU, June 27: Admonishing the Coalition Government for being unresponsive and inarticulate over the State Public Service Commission’s brazen involvement in large scale corruption, nepotism and regional prejudice in selections to Government services besides controversial KAS exams fiasco recently, NPP chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh lambasted the BJP in particular for its ‘criminal silence’ on a very sensitive issue which had put the career of thousands of youth hailing from Jammu region in jeopardy.
Talking to media persons here today NPP leader while holding the PSC’s gross irregularities in recent KAS preliminary exams responsible for maligning its image said that it had come to fore that 24 questions/ answers were wrongly marked in its official key pertaining to Political Science, Zoology and General Studies. He regretted that the incident which had never happened before had put the results of the above said exams in abeyance leading to the withdrawal of notification for Main exam which had left the fate of thousands of aspirants hanging in the balance.

NPP leader said that suspicions were rife among the Jammu based KAS aspirants that the official key was deliberately made by the PSC, so as to exclude them from the competition and divest them of their due share in the State Civil Services. Wondering on the BJP for remaining tight lipped over the KAS exams fiasco, Singh said that the mandated Saffron leaders which claimed to be a champion of Jammu cause had come under fire for their criminal silence over the injustice and discrimination being meted out to the aspirants from the Jammu region. He rued that no Cabinet Minister or MLA from the BJP had bothered to raise this issue.
“BJP should wake up from slumber and promptly facilitate black listing of the subject experts responsible for setting the question papers/answer keys fraught with errors, the CBI probe into the episode and registration of FIR against all those associated with fraudulent appointments made during the past two and a half years which had tarnished the acceptability and trustworthiness of the recruiting agency”, agitated Harsh Dev said.
Alleging large scale bias and prejudice against Jammu youth in selections during the current regime, Harsh Dev said that highly biased nature of selections had shaken the faith of the educated Jammu youth in the present BJP partnered coalition as well as the PSC. He sought intervention of Governor NN Vohra into the matter.
