JAMMU, Dec 30: Harshdev Singh, NPP MLA and its chairman has ridiculed the statement of Devender Singh Rana, Politiclal Advisor to Chief Minister describing Panthers as ‘opportunists’, ‘power hungry’ and a ‘B team of PDP’.
He said Mr. Rana was required to do a bit of self introspection so as to analyse exactly who was opportunist and power hungry.
Reminding Mr. Rana of the double standards of NC, Mr. Singh said that NC has consistently been following the policy of running with the hare and hunting with the hound with the sole objective of remaining in power. He said NC had been joining hands with BJP and Congress on different occasions to suit its political ambitions and to avail of the crumbs of power. Mr Singh said that it was the NC which summarily dismissed Saif-ud-Din Soz and banished him from NC for siding with Congress on the crucial floor test in Lok Sabha which had resulted in one vote defeat and downfall of BJP led Govt. at the Centre. And now once again NC had joined hands with Saif-ud-Din Soz to reap the fruits of power, he said.
Mr. Harshdev Singh said NC-Congress alliance was a heterogeneous combination of diametrically opposed parties having divergent perceptions on different issues. He said that one Party was talking of autonomy while other categonically opposed it. Likewise NC talked of withdrawal of AFSPA but Congress insisted on its continuance and strengthening and still the alliance was intact.
He said it was NC that had been changing colors like Chameleon and assuming the role of B team of BJP and Congress respectively on different occasions to suit its own political interests. He said NC, once again in 2011 and 2012 joined hands with BJP in MLC elections for petty political gains.
