JAMMU, Jan 11: Former Minister and Chairman, AAP J&K State Coordination Committee, Harsh Dev Singh, on Wednesday sought a probe into BJP leaders’ alleged links with terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other militant organisations.
Referring to Rajouri killings, Harsh Dev Singh said: “while the security agencies claimed to have booked certain suspects, the role of BJP leaders particularly Ravinder Raina and Jugal Kishore Sharma, who were closely affiliated with the LeT commander Talib Hussain needs to be probed”.
“This is necessary since Talib Hussain’s group is under scanner of the investigating agencies in the Rajouri bloodshed,” the former Minister said while addressing the media persons here.
He said that given the fact that BJP could go to any extent to destroy the opposition and to ascend the throne of power, it was no surprise if its roly-poly, ambition driven leaders were conspiring to create polarization for achieving its avowed objectives.
Accusing some BJP leaders of fishing in troubled waters and playing politics over dead bodies of innocent civilians by attempting communal divide, Singh appealed to the people to unite to expose the divisive, sectarian policies of such bigoted parties and maintain communal harmony at all costs.
Meanwhile, the AAP leader said that despite a lapse of ten days, no breakthrough had been achieved in the Rajouri killings.
“It seems the LG administration and security apparatus of J&K have crumbled with public anger showing no signs of regress over the Rajouri killings,” he said.
He said that with seven innocent civilians having fallen to terrorists’ bullets, the government was merely giving vague and nauseating statements which had failed to inspire anyone.
“Not only had the government floundered to apprehend the culprits but had also failed to instil confidence in the hearts and minds of the people about its sincerity in fighting terror being exported from across the border,” Singh added.
Rajiv Mahajan and Onkar Singh were also present in the press conference.
