Haryana to send food items, medicines to J&K

CHANDIGARH :  Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to send trucks of food items and medicines for the flood-affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Hooda said five trucks of sugar, five trucks of other food items and medicines worth Rs 50 lakh will be send for the victims.
The Chief Minister also assured of all kind of help for relief operations going in the state, according to an official release.
The people of Haryana are with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in this hour of crisis, Hooda said.
The state government has appointed Principal Secretary, (Social Justice and Empowerment Department) P K Das as the nodal officer in the state for relief assistance, the release said.
Hooda had earlier announced to send 50,000 blankets to the flood-ravaged state. (AGENCIES)
