KATHUA, Sept 30: DDC Chairman, Kathua Col (retd) Mahan Singh today asked the Government officials to ensure that people should get benefits of Central Government schemes without any hassle.
Addressing public darbars here at Bhiker and Sialog Panchayats of Block Bhood in Basholi constituency of Kathua district, the DDC Chairman said that the public welfare schemes cannot serve the purpose if the benefits of the same are not reached up to the last man in the queue and for this the onus lies on the departmental officials who are the bridge between Government and the people. He said that people-centric schemes have been crafted for the public welfare but the hindrances created by the delinquent officials at times create difficulty in reaching out to the deserving population.
Col Mahan Singh asked the officials of various departments to act wisely in the matter and ensure that no genuine beneficiary should be denied the benefits of the public welfare schemes. He said that BJP Government led by PM Narendra Modi has come up with numerous schemes and policies to uplift the deserving segments of the society and people should also come forward to avail the benefits of these schemes.
Later, Col Mahan also listened to the problems being faced by the people and directed the officials of various departments to do the needful in the matters highlighted by the people.
The DDC Chairman ensured that most of the issues and demands were resolved on the spot by the help of concerned officials although various others were left for consideration in the coming time. People also raised the issues of water, power and civic infra, which the DDC Chairman noted down with specific details for early redressal.
They also expressed resentment over the non-execution of solar power project in the area. Col Mahan assured the people of the area that he would make all possible efforts in reviving this solar power project at the earliest.
Col Mahan Singh said that he is available to the public 24X7 and people should not feel shy to approach him on any of the public matters. He said that he is there to resolve the issues of people and ensure all round development of the Kathua. People of both the Panchayats expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the DDC and extended wholehearted support to DDC Chairman and his team in ensuring progress of the region.
