In a recent mess, some Hindi newspapers passed off an innocent man’s pictures as that of a terrorist. Although such a hasty action of the newspapers is unacceptable, yet it is equally wrong to call it an Islamophobic act. Some people, including Majid, the innocent man, have hinted that he might have been picked because of his appearance. It must be noted that it is the newspapers’ haste which caused this blunder and nothing else. A similar mistake was committed two years back when a chopper had crashed in Katra. Newspapers used Facebook pictures of a Kerala woman instead of those of the bereaved pilot Sumita Vijayan, who was from Hyderabad. Hence no other but one conclusion should be derived from this entire episode that haste makes waste.
