Hatli residents demand construction of causeway

KATHUA, Nov 3: Residents of village Hatli have demanded immediate construction of causeway on Brow -Audhi nallah in view of he problems faced by the people of entire Panchayat due to same.
In a statement through a social activist, Master Avtar Krishan they said that despite bringing the issue in the notice of the higher authorities of the PWD no action has been taken in this regard till date. They said that the work was tendered in 2019 by the R&B Department and the same was allotted to contractor but till date he failed to start the work which has generated a lot of public resentment in the area.
The residents have made separate appeals to Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh who represents the Kathua –Doda constituency and Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha urging them to issue the directives to concerned authorities to start the work on the Causeway as people are facing hardships because no passenger vehicle ply to the area during the heavy rains when the nallah is in spate.
They said school going children, office goers as well as the patients to be taken to hospitals for treatment face many hardships due to non construction of causeway on the road connection Hatli to Lakhanpur.
They said the road which is in bad condition near the nallah often results in accidents putting the lives of people to grave risk.
