Hatli residents protest against industrial pollution

KATHUA, Jan 12: Residents of Hatli Morh, Govindsar, and surrounding areas staged a protest against the pollution caused by industries in the Industrial Estate, Hatli Morh, Kathua.
The protestors, holding banners, blocked the road for half an hour, demanding an end to the pollution from industries, including cement, tyre, and textile factories.
The protest was led by local residents including Surinder Singh, Sat Pal, Kartar Singh, Amrik Singh, and Rajesh Kumar, who expressed strong disapproval of the Pollution Control Board and District Administration for not addressing the pollution issue.
The protestors said that the pollution, in the form of air, water, and noise, has severely affected the health and daily life of people living in Govindsar, Hatli Morh, Sawan Chak, and nearby areas.
They said the pollution has made it difficult for them to sleep at night due to suffocating air, and many have been suffering from health problems.
The protestors called on the authorities to take strict action against the industries and to relocate the most polluting factories away from residential areas.
