Have a vision for J&K, want to make it prosperous State: PM

JAMMU, Jan 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that he has a vision for development of Jammu and Kashmir, which has immense potential of tourism to make people of the State prosperous.
He explained his vision for India especially Jammu and Kashmir in detail while inter-acting with 240 youth from Jammu and Kashmir, who were on a visit to New Delhi on the initiative of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
An official handout released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said the Prime Minister spoke at length about his vision for development of India especially Jammu and Kashmir in over half an hour long inter-action with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir in which he stressed on exploiting the beautiful resources of tourism in the State, which will encourage tourists and generate employment opportunities for the people.
“The State of Jammu and Kashmir has immense potential of tourism, which, in turn, would bring prosperity to the people of the State,” Modi said during his inter-action with the youth, who were drawn from different parts of the State.
The Prime Minister spoke at length of his vision for all-round development of the country including Jammu and Kashmir in which he has proposed a house for everyone by 2022. This is very ambitious scheme of the Prime Minister, who had proposed that each and every citizen of the country must have his own house in the next six years time. The scheme was being jointly implemented by various concerned Ministries and Departments in Jammu and Kashmir and was being constantly monitored by the officers of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
During his inter-action with the youth, Modi also touched upon the subjects of physical and digital connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Union Government was working to ensure good physical and digital connectivity across the State,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister has been laying great stress on Digital India.
The youth, who inter-acted with the Prime Minister in the lawns of Panchvati at 7, Race Course Road, had a high tea with him after the question-answer session. During the session, the youth posed series of question to the Prime Minister pertaining to development of the country with particular reference to Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister replied in detail to the questions posed by the youth and online all of them. He put counter questions to the youth and was happy to get their reply.
The youth responded enthusiastically to the Prime Minister’s statements and questions. They repeatedly expressed their wish for the State of Jammu and Kashmir to progress and be developed with modern infrastructure, as they have seen in New Delhi.
The youth told the Prime Minister that they want their State of Jammu and Kashmir to develop like the capital City of India.
Over 240 youth from Jammu and Kashmir were currently on a visit to New Delhi as part of the “Wattan Ko Jano” initiative being carried out by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Government.
The youth, in the age-group of 15 to 24, were mostly from militancy affected families, orphanages and weaker sections of the society, majority of whom had been visiting the Indian capital for the first time in their life.
The Prime Minister called upon them to rise big in their career.
