Srinagar, May 27: Dr Charanpreet Singh of Ludhiana in Punjab said that he has got permission to construct residential structure at Lashpathri Sonamarg from the competent authority after obtaining NOCs from various departments including Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA).
The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SDA has issued NOC for such construction last year stating that Lashpathri does not come under SDA. However, another former CEO, SDA, demolished his tin shed which Dr Singh had constructed prior to start of construction of residential house. After a written complaint by Dr Singh an FIR was lodged against the CEO.
In his response to the FIR lodged against him, the CEO in his letter addressed to SHO Sonamarg stated that he ordered the demolition as Lashpathri does fall under SDA.
“Sonamarg bowl from bridge at the entrance upto the Nilgard bridge in the East, Thajwas in the west and majestic mountain ranges in North (Lashpathri comes under it), form the main recreational areas,” the CEO quotes Master Plan in his letter in response to the FIR.
