JAMMU, July 10: A special `Hawan-Yagna’ and prayer for the victims of Uttarakhand tragedy was organized at Lakshmi Nayaran Mandir Gandhi Nagar here today.
A large number of devotees, prominent people and members of the Management Committee/ Temple Trust led by president Dogra Saddar Sabha Th Gulchain Singh Charak participated in this noble cause.
Noted Vedic scholars of the region witnessed the occcasion and all the participants offered special prayers for the peace to the souls who perished in the natural calamity at Kedarnath and other adjoining areas.
The programme commenced in the morning with Hawan- Yagya followed by special prayers and community `Parsad’. Despite heavy rain in the morning, a large number of devotees attended this religious function. Many devotees also generated funds for the Uttarakhand victims.
