Hazratbal Shrine gets new carpets after 70 yrs

SRINAGAR, May 17: J&K Waqf Board Chairperson, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi here today visited Dargah Hazratbal shrine and chaired an event organised by the Waqf Board there after the completion of new carpet laying initiative of the Board at the shrine.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Andrabi said that after 70 years, this important shrine of Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar is fully having new carpets and it was really a day of great satisfaction for the Board.
“Waqf Board is now in a position to invest on the infrastructure development and other varied utility development projects at Sufi Shrines in J&K. Our reformative measures have yielded very good results. May our spiritual shrines remain our priority and may the spirituality strengthen us all,” said Dr. Andrabi.
She expressed her gratitude to the people of J&K for their cooperation to the Board in achieving the success in streamlining Waqf management and financial system and making it transparent and progressive.
“The Board has utilized abandoned properties, ensured timely rent collection and transparent donation system through out J&K which has strengthened the organization,” she maintained adding: “Much more still needs to be done and the Board is working tirelessly to improve its working and to create more facilities for the people.”
