BHADERWAH, Oct 22: Hospital Bachao Front (HBF) today took out a protest rally in support of its demand of shifting of Sub-District Hospital (SDH) back into its old complex.
Raising slogans, hundreds of people under the banner of HBF took out a rally, which passed through various areas and concluded at Seri bazaar. They also burnt the effigy of the district administration, for not conceding the demand.
The protestors were demanding restoration of SDH Bhadarwah at its original place and upgrading the new hospital by way of equipping it with A grade doctors and modern machinery.
The rally was led by Ranbir Manhas, front convenor, who while speaking, castigated the district administration for spreading canards to sabotage the people’s movement.
“We are not averse to talks, but only when someone comes out with a sound proposal”, he said.
“We want restoration of the old hospital by way of providing permanent staff and unless this demand is not conceded, we will not lift the dharna,” Manhas reiterated.
Mr Manhas was accompanied by senior front leaders including Abdul Hafiz Wani, Choudhary Iqbal, Abdul Haq Zarger, Des Raj Kotwal, Hamid Ganai, Aslam Khan, Majid Malik, Neeraj Manhas and Sachin Sambyal, Mast Nath Yogi of Janata Dal, Abdul Hafiz Fani of Low Paid Employees Federation, etc.
