HC accepts Parra’s appeal

Srinagar, Nov 20: High Court today accepted the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party youth president Wahid-ur-Rehman Parra against the rejection of his bail by the Special Judge designated under NIA Act and directed the registry to list the same on November 27 for consideration.
The appeal was delayed by 33 days and the court on previous date had sought objection from the prosecution, whether the delay be condoned or not. The Division Bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice Sanjay Dhar after hearing the Parra’s counsel on the set of facts and grounds urged and coupled with submissions made at bar allowed the delay application and directed the registry to list the main appeal next week for consideration.
Parra through his Senior Counsel R A Jan approached the Division Bench of High Court against the rejection of his bail by NIA designated court on July 20.
