HC accepts unconditional apology by petitioner in stone crusher case

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 5: High Court has accepted unconditional apology by the petitioner Ratno Devi in a stone crusher case.
In a petition titled Ratno Devi and others counsel for the petitioners categorically made a statement before the High Court that the petition was heard and reserved for judgment and not dismissed.
However, the counsel for the respondents strongly objected to it and mentioned that court on December 6, 2017 heard and dismissed the petition.
It was further submitted by the counsel for respondents that making a false statement was not only scandalous but contemptuous also.
The matter was again listed on February 2, 2018 before  Justice Ramalingam Sudhkar and the counsels for the respondents Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi and Advocate A A Khan made a mention about the conduct in the case.
The court while taking a very serious view directed  for filing an affidavit to withdraw averments and to tender unconditional apology otherwise the matter will be referred to  Chief Justice for taking necessary action.
Today, High Court dismissed the writ petition and has taken on record the affidavit filed by the petitioner in which unconditional apology has been sought for making false statement.
