HC Bar, others protest against attack on journalists by Rohingyas

JAMMU, Mar 14: J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu today staged a protest demonstration at Janipur High Court Complex, Jammu against the attack on working journalists by the illegal immigrants and their supporters in Kiryani Talab area of Bhatandi. The group of miscreants belonging to particular section who are supporters of illegal immigrants targeted and attacked the media persons with sharp edged weapons and wooden logs.

While addressing the media persons the president of the Association, B.S. Slathia (Senior Advocate) said that the Government. should ensure safety of the media persons as the press is the fourth pillar of the democracy and the proper security arrangements should be made for the members of the press while they perform their duty as journalists.
He further said that this act of attack on media persons by the Rohingyas and their supporters is a dangerous act and the State must book the accused persons under the public safety laws as such type of elements are threat to the peaceful society of the Jammu as well as to the national security.
Taking a strong cognizance of brutal attack on journalists on duty in illegal Rohingya Colony at Kiryani Talab Bhatindi just few minutes walk away from Sunjwan Army Camp on Tuesday, Bharat Raksha Manch (BRM) under the leadership of its working president Advocate Hunar Gupta held a protest demonstration at Press Club here, today.
While interacting with media persons Advocate Hunar said that his organisation time and again raised this issue of illegal foreign nationals from Myanmar and Bangladesh in Jammu but State Government ignored all warnings and now this has emerged as a ticking time bomb which is ready to explode in order to change demography of Jammu region only.
A strong protest by residents of Sainik Colony supported by Businessmen Association Sainik Colony against Rohangya and Bangladeshi was held at Babbar Chowk Sainik Colony today. Prominent citizens including P S Nagyal, Rashpal Bandral, Vishal Sharma, Ranjit Singh, Visesh Jamwal and president Businessmen Association Sainik Colony, Rakesh Choudhary participated in protest. They said that by giving refuge to Rohingya politicians have deceived the nation. These people are involved in drug trafficking, flush trade and anti-national activity and other crimes like burglary and kidnapping and appealed the Prime Minister to deport them back.
Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM), today held a strong protest rally, on Janipur-High Court Road against illegal settlement of Rohingyas, Bangladeshies and Burmees in the State.
Scores of JWAM activists led by their president, Sunil Dimple, today assembled at New Plot and burnt the effigies of Rohingyas and Bangladeshies who allegedly attacked a group of TV journalists in Bathindi area of Jammu yesterday. They raised slogans demanding immediate deportation of these Rohingya refugees from the State.
Addressing the protestors, Sunil Dimple said that Rohingyas and the Bangladeshies are threat for the State as they have links with the ISI, Hijbul Mujahideen, Lashkery Toeba, ISIS and other anti- India elements. He demanded immediate ouster of these refugees, who are living in various parts of Jammu division, from the State.
Meanwhile in Kathua a deputation of Young Lawyers Association led by its president  Anil Singh Andotra accompanied by Himanshu Sharma,  Raghubir Singh met with Deputy Commissioner Kathua and submited a memorandum demanding identification of the Rohingiya living in Kathua district and deporting them from the State .
Anil Singh Andotra said that the Rohingiyas are living illegally in J&K State and rest of the Country.  They are serious threat to the security the people and the State.
