SRINAGAR, Nov 21: High court has closed the contempt proceedings against the then Chief Secretary of J&K UT as the order regarding the facility of online RTI portal was made available.
The contempt petition was filed seeking implementation of order whereby direction was issued to the then CS to consider the representation for online portal facility for the citizens of UT.
“Compliance to order dated 11.09.2024 has been filed. A perusal of the compliance report filed by the respondents reveals that the directions issued by this court vide order dated 17.03.2022 passed in PIL No.01/2022, have been duly complied with”, read the order.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan and Justice M A Chowdhary in this view said that nothing survives in this contempt petition as the order has been complied with.
“Consequently, the contempt petition is closed and proceedings initiated against the respondents are accordingly dropped”, DB concluded.
