HC closes contempt proceedings against Chairman AAI, others

JAMMU, Sept 21: High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has closed the contempt proceedings against Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman Airports Authority of India, Anil Kumar Pathak, Member (P&A), Airports Authority of India and . Prabhu, Executive Director (Pers), Airports Authority.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Writ Court had directed for granting benefit of next higher scale of DGM (ATC) to the VP Saini along with consequential benefits.
After hearing Advocate Yatin Mahajan for AAI, Justice Sindhu Sharma observed, “this contempt petition has been filed for the non-implementation of the judgment and order dated 04.05.2022. Advocate Yatin Mahajan submits that a Letters Patent Appeal was preferred against the order dated 04.05.2022.  He further submits that the LPA has been allowed and the judgment of the writ court was set aside by an order dated 09.09.2024.  He has placed on record the judgment of the Division Bench dated 09.09.2024”.
“In view of the fact that the judgment of the writ court dated 04.05.2022 has been set aside, the proceedings in this contempt petition are closed”, Justice Sindhu Sharma directed.
