HC denies bail to co-accused in fake appointments scam

JAMMU, Sept 14: High Court has rejected the bail application of one Vishal Bhagat, who is co-accused with fake Army Colonel, and was involved in collection of huge money from youth on the pretext of recruiting them in Indian Army.
According to the Crime Branch case, Kulbinder Singh, son of Karnail Singh of Deharan Akhnoor, who was dismissed from Indian Army, was luring youth of Jammu by impersonating himself as Army Colonel and in this way he had collected huge amount.
He had also issued various fake appointments orders in favour of various innocent youth after taking huge amount from them. He was being assisted by Vishal Bhagat of Dream City, Harsh Verma of Janipur and Ricky Chib.
Following detailed investigation, Kulvinder Singh, son of Karnail Singh of Deharan, Sunil Singh, son of Karnail Singh and Vishal Bhagat, son of Subash Chander of Lale-da-Bagh Lower Barnai were arrested.
After hearing both the sides, Justice Tashi Rabstan observed, “since the allegations against the petitioner are very serious vis-a-vis duping innocent youths of their money on the pretext of getting them adjusted in MES and Indian Army, as such, the petitioner at this stage is not entitled to concession of bail as the offences prima-facie look to be very grievous with huge impact on the society”.
