JAMMU, Dec 1: Dogra Sadar Sabha has expressed that J&K High Court directions to the Government on Mubarak Mandi Development and Preservation Project is an eye opener for the Government and hoped that pace of work would get some momentum with it.
The core group of the Dogra Sadar Sabha met at the Dogra Sadar Sabha Bhawan here today under the chairmanship of  Gulchain Singh Charak (president). The members expressed their satisfaction over the directions of the Division Bench of J&K High Court consisting the Chief Justice  Badar Durrez Ahmed and  Justice  Sanjeev Kumar amplifying the importance of preservation of the archives, museums and the heritage complex of Mubarak Mandi.
Charak, former Chairman of Executive Committee of Jammu Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society reiterated that the progress on the restoration work is pathetic and there appears to be an underlying sinister plan to let the prestigious valuable complex parish to obliterate the very cultural background of the Dogra clan.
“It appears to be a wicked plan to undo the glory of the past rulers and ruin the records and the complex that hold testimony to a glorious period in regional history,” Charak said.
Former minister  brought out that he had personally visited the Kala Kendra building and projected that the place was not only insufficient but also unsuited and unsafe for stocking the old valuable records which have become fragile and delicate and thus needed specialized care and humidity proof arrangements. He added that his findings and recommendations were intimated to the Chief Minister who is also the Chairperson of the Jammu Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society.
The members  urged the Govt to set and announce a speedy time plan and adhere to it strictly by incorporating some members who are personally and emotionally interested to take on the projects selflessly which should be separated and assigned to sub-committees who should be made answerable and empowered to complete their assigned projects without hindrances.
