Srinagar, Aug 7: High Court today directed the J&K Bank to conclude the enquiry and initiate action against the alleged appointments in a time bound manner.
The Court directed the bank to take the requisite record from the court and from the office of Anti-Corruption Bureau as early as possible and complete the action in time bound manner and not keep the same pending for years.
Court reiterated the letter of Government in this regard in which bank has been directed to conclude the process and report back to Government within a period of one month.
The direction followed after the bank counsel submitted before the court that two FIRs have been registered with the allegation of illegal appointments in the bank.
He submitted before the court that voluminous record was seized by ACB and there are approximately 2800 employees who may be affected.
On the directions issued by the Government in this regard, he added, the bank has constituted a high level Committee to go into all aspects of the appointments made.
A direction is also on bank to initiate departmental action in the matter. He informed the court that an application filed by the bank before trial court for seeking copies of seized record as in absence of the record enquiry could not be completed.
Bank counsel submitted before the bench that as soon as the complete record is received the committee constituted will proceed ahead to discharge the duty assigned to bank.
It is mentioned that court has recently directed for release of salary of these employees which was withheld on the directions of trial court.
