SRINAGAR, Sept 11: High Court today directed the SSPs of Crime and Vigilance to produce the original complaints filed against the seven candidates who were selected for MBBS course through CET 2012 to “erase suspicion.”
A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice M. M. Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, issued the direction after amicus, B A Bashir, submitted before the Bench that Crime and Vigilance Departments have not presented original complaints before the court about these selections.
The court also directed them to file report about the action taken by them is this case.
Pulling up the two departments, the court observed the role of investigating agencies has to be pro-active because the society at large is involved.
“Those students who work hard become victims of depression after the students who work casually are selected,” the Bench observed.
The court observed that the report filed by Crime and Vigilance Departments reveals that out of seven selected candidates for MBBS, only five have been found meritorious after verification of their performance in 10th and 12th classes.
The Bench also heard the PIL about the leakage and subsequent cancellation of CET 2013 conducted by BOPEE, observing dissatisfaction with the cooperation of the BOPEE Secretary toward investigating agencies.
