HC disposes of contempt petition against Adnan

MUMBAI, July 25: In a relief to playback singer Adnan Sami, the Bombay High Court has disposed of a petition filed by his former wife Sabah Galadari seeking contempt action against him for refusing her access to the flats where he resides. The petition was disposed of yesterday by Justice R V More who asked the family court here to decide on the issue of granting access to Galadari to the flats belonging to Sami in Oberoi Gardens at Lokhandwala in suburban Andheri. Galadari, a UAE citizen, had contended that despite an order from the family court and the High Court, Sami was not allowing her to enter the flats on the 13th and 14th floor of the sky-rise Oberoi Gardens. Thus he had committed contempt of court, her lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani argued. Galadari pleaded that she was out of the house since February, 2009 and was being prevented by Adnan from visiting and residing in the house. Sami’s lawyer Vibhav Krishna, however, submitted that the singer had not disobeyed the orders of the High Court or the family court. On October 22, 2010, Justice Roshan Dalvi had granted Galadari the possession of the flat on the 12th floor of Oberoi Garden and a flat in Ankita Apartments. (PTI)
