HC fixes case for final consideration as Vigilance files status report

JAMMU, Nov 11: High Court has taken on record the status report filed by the State Vigilance Organization in the alleged double drawl of POL by the vehicles attached with the Deputy Chief Minister and directed that the matter be listed in the week commencing November 18, 2013 for final consideration.
When the case was taken-up for hearing, Advocate S S Ahmed drew the attention of the Court to the order dated July 22, 2013 whereby Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu had fixed a time limit of four months for completion of the preliminary investigation. However, Additional Advocate General Ravinder Sharma appearing for the State stated that State Vigilance Organization has submitted status report.
After hearing Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed for the petitioner Prof SK Bhalla and Additional Advocate General Ravinder Sharma for the State/ State Vigilance Organization, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal took on record the status report and directed that the matter be listed in the week commencing November 18 for final consideration.
In the latest status report, the SVO has given vehicle wise details and the POL issued from various departments under the administrative control of Housing & Urban Development Department. The SVO has also highlighted 10 points on which the verification is under progress.
