HC gets modernized Post Office

JAMMU, Mar 26: Department of Posts today launched modern Post Office at High Court Complex here. The Post Office will provide Speed Post, Parcel Post, Savings, Post Shop and other services.
Dedicating the modernized Post Office, Chief Justice of the State High Court, Justice F M Ibrahim Kalifulla lauded the role of the Post Office in the development of the society. “In the electronic age, Post Office needs to change the way it operates so that it benefits every section of the society’, he added.
Appreciating the efforts of the J&K Postal Circle for introducing Same Day Speed Post Services, Justice Kalifulla said, “this will go a long way in faster delivery of court notices”.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Post Master General, John Samuel said that all the post offices in Jammu city will get a total make over in the next few months to make them modern and relevant to the needs of the customers. “In Jammu city, 12 post offices have been identified under post office transformation and the modernization work is already underway”, he added.
Justice J P Singh, Justice M Yaqoob Mir and Justice Hasnain Masoodi besides large number of advocates were present on the occasion,
B S Salathia, President Bar Association Jammu, while speaking on the occasion, lauded the efforts of Chief Postmaster General in making the Post Office relevant to the changing needs of society.
