JAMMU, Aug 11: High Court has granted pre-arrest bail to a Veterinary Doctor namely Shabnam Mustafa in an attempt to murder case.
After hearing Advocate Aseem Sawheny appearing for the applicant, Justice Vinod Chaterji Koul observed, “having regard to the fact that the other co-accused involved in the case had already been admitted to bail in the impugned FIR and the applicant is a Government servant which can be a reason to believe that he will not abscond, as such, prima-facie case is made out for grant of bail in anticipation of his arrest in favour of the applicant at this stage”.
Accordingly, High Court issued notice returnable within three weeks, subject to filing of requisites within one week. Meanwhile, subject to objections from the other side and till next date of hearing, High Court ordered that in the event of arrest of the applicant in FIR No. 90/2023 registered with Police Station Thana Mandi, Rajouri for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 307/147/323 IPC and Section 438 Cr.P.C, he shall be released on interim bail on his furnishing of bail and personal bond in the sum of Rs 100,000 each to the satisfaction of the arresting officer.
