Jammu, Nov 21: The High Court authorities have initiated the process for withdrawal of the name of candidate, who had been inadvertently declared ‘selected’ for the post of District and Session Judge due to ‘excess’ marking.
“As soon as the error came to the notice of the authorities, they wanted to ensure cancellation of this selection with immediate effect. The High Court authorities took the initiative and made sure that required steps were taken to ensure withdrawal of this particular candidates from the selection panel”, sources said.
Sources stated, “the ‘error’ came to the notice of the High Court Authorities when one of the unsuccessful candidates made representation before them stating that wrong marking had been done in this particular case”.
“In the second case, where links of the candidate with Pak-trained militants had been established, the State Government had to initiate the process of his cancellation from the selection list”, sources said, adding, “the role of the Court authorities was confined to the conduct of Higher Judiciary examination and thereafter, the penal of selected candidates was forwarded to the administration for verifying their antecedents”.
Sources emphasized, “it goes to the credit of security agencies, who have been able to establish the links with anti-national elements at this stage. It would have been catastrophic for the State, had the candidate made it to the final appointment list”.
